Irvine, CA, July 23, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Casual footwear maker OluKai was among four companies to sign leases recently for more than 70 percent of the 1-million-square-foot Kimball Business Park, a collection of eight distribution buildings underway in Chino, California, announced Sares Regis Group, the project’s developer.
“Leases for nearly 730,000 square feet have been signed before we finished construction. That tells us that our buildings are in the right size range at the right time in the market,” said Larry Lukanish, Senior Vice President of SRG Commercial in Irvine, California.
The buildings – leased for five to 10 years – range from 44,746 square feet to 349,000 square feet, Lukanish said. The four available buildings range from 41,049 square feet to 120,312 square feet and have 30 feet and 32 feet of clear height, he said, adding that the first building is set for completion in July and the last by October.
Sares Regis Group’s development of premier commercial buildings is on 70 acres off Kimball Avenue between Hellman and Flight avenues just east of Chino Airport. Kimball Business Park also is in the westernmost portion of the Inland Empire, 10 miles from Orange County and 34 miles from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, according to Colliers International, which is representing the development.
OluKai has outgrown its Orange County distribution operations and will be the first tenant in the development, relocating from Huntington Beach, California, where OluKai leased a 173,495-square-foot building, Lukanish said.
The largest building, 349,000 square feet, was leased by Winsight, an import-export consumer products company that is consolidating operations from four Chino locations to Kimball Business Park, he said.
Best Buy leased a 161,372-square-foot building as a return center, and a 44,746-square-foot building was leased by Maxon Auto, maker of aftermarket exhaust systems is expanding, Lukanish said.
All the buildings contain approximately 4,000 square feet of office space and ESFR sprinklers.
