SecureAuth Reveals First-Ever Adaptive and Continuous Authentication Product Using Behavioral Biometric Technology

New Solution Provides Even Greater Security While Revolutionizing User Experience

IRVINE, CA --(Marketwired - February 24, 2016) - SecureAuth Corporation, the leader in adaptive access control, announced today major updates to SecureAuth IdP, the company's flagship product providing authentication security, single sign-on (SSO) and user self-service tools together in a single solution. The latest version, SecureAuth IdP v9.0, includes behavioral biometrics, a groundbreaking new risk analysis technology that makes an organization even more secure while improving user experience. The technology performs keystroke analysis and mouse movement analysis to determine a user's legitimacy without the user noticing, and builds a unique behavior-based profile on each user device. These profiles are compared to subsequent login attempts and if they don't match -- SecureAuth IdP v9.0 will require multi-factor authentication (MFA) for that login to proceed. SecureAuth is the first identity management vendor to offer this capability as part of a comprehensive risk-based authentication process.

"Whereas most SSO vendors have limited authentication options, SecureAuth has more than 20 [methods] that can suit a variety of use cases," said Garret Bekker, Senior Security Analyst at 451 Research. "The addition of behavioral biometrics and threat-intelligence feeds provides differentiation versus other vendors of adaptive/risk-based/step-up authentication."

"Think of SecureAuth IdP as a bullet proof vest," said Craig Lund, SecureAuth CEO. "It has multiple layers of protection, which creates a strong bulwark against cyber attacks. It's harder to break through multiple layers of authentication compared to just one. In this case, one of those layers is created by behavioral biometric technology, which is unique in that it is influenced by social and psychological attributes. This is very secure, since it's nearly impossible to copy or imitate somebody else's behavior when using a device."

SecureAuth is aware of the substantial challenges organizations face when it comes to protecting employee credentials. According to Verizon's 2015 Data Breach Investigations Report, up to 60 percent of breaches involved attackers using stolen credentials. Today's fraught landscape is one of the many reasons the company is rolling out SecureAuth IdP enhancements and incorporating behavioral biometrics. In a world where threats are constant, behavioral biometrics provide continuous authentication that is 97 percent accurate and is unique to each individual.

Along with using behavioral biometric technology to determine risk, SecureAuth IdP also uses device recognition, IP reputation, directory lookup, geo-location and geo-velocity to equip enterprises with the easiest and most secure form of authentication.

IdP 9.0 also extends its leadership position of integrating into existing security investments by offering:

  • SIEM integration for IBM QRadar and HP ArcSight which helps correlate intrusion detections for increased accuracy in determining if, where and when a breach occurred.
  • Identity Management API to give more flexibility to customers that are creating their own applications.

The product currently protects over five million identities at well-known companies in the banking, healthcare, government, travel, education and retail industries. Executives at Unisys, the Kelsey-Sebold Clinic and Houston Methodist Hospital have cited IdP's flexibility, usability and key role in dramatically reducing dependency on passwords.

RSA Conference 2016 and General Availability
From February 29 - March 4, 2016, security leaders from SecureAuth will be in attendance at RSA Conference in San Francisco. There, team members will offer live demonstrations of SecureAuth IdP v9.0. Executives will also be on hand for discussions about the current state of the industry and how advanced adaptive authentication techniques like behavioral biometrics can help protect an organization's network, applications and brand. To learn more or see a demonstration, visit South Expo booth #2207 in the exhibitor level.

SecureAuth IdP v9.0 will be available in April of 2016.
